Your Giving Opportunities
HJCF works diligently to ensure the needs of our community are met in lasting and meaningful ways by serving as a central resource and advocate for charitable giving. We empower individuals and families to give generously to the organizations and causes that matter to them most.
We partner with philanthropic individuals and families to provide thoughtful and customized grantmaking decisions. Our work is not a one size fits all approach to establishing a fund and charitable grantmaking. One type of fundholder may open a fund and have a clear charitable path and recommend grants on a set timetable. Another type of fundholder requires a different type of charitable conversation:
- Creating a charitable giving plan
- Providing non-profit research
- Customizing gift and grant agreements
- Ensuring grantee accountability
- Partnering with a network of advisors

Expanding Philanthropy
In our role as a community foundation, HJCF is pleased to share giving opportunities by highlighting several initiatives of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.
The Federation provides opportunities for individuals and families to engage philanthropically and drives meaningful social change to enhance the continuity, security, and unity of the Jewish community. The areas of interest include PJ Library endowment, Early Childhood Education, Connections to Israel.
If you would like more information, you can have a confidential conversation with a HJCF staff member or we can put you in touch with the appropriate staff at the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.
Unmet Community Needs
There are many local nonprofit organizations that are in need of support. HJCF is committed to building a strong community and we are pleased to bring to your attention these identified community needs. Here is a list of some urgent needs and/or transformational programs.
Working together, we can build a strong future. If you are a fundholder, you can recommend a grant to these programs through our online platform. If you have any questions, you can reach out to a HJCF staff member or we can help connect you with the organization in need.
